I enjoyed reading this narrative. The author does not disappoint when it comes to writing a page-turning, plot-driven story. If you read Book 1, it is a year later at Chadsworth, and you will be acquainted with protagonist Lucille Pfiffer, who does not bite her tongue when it comes to her opinions, along with some of her charming, authentic, and relatable characters. The setting starts on a yacht, where Lucille’s best friend, Marlene, faces a terrifying episode. When the yacht lands at a resort in Hogan Key, more drama is about to unfold when wealthy Ralph Edwards, the CEO of a pharmaceutical company, meets a sudden death. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat when Lucille sees the ghost of Sir Clement Tucker, whose murder went unsolved, taking the story in an extraordinary direction, revealing some twists and turns, secrets and lies, betrayal, deception, greed, extortion, and illicit activities. Yet, Lucille’s dealings with antagonists Jake and Sal make the story more captivating, slowly building up to a surprise sequence of events. I received Book 1, Blind Sight, as a promotion from the author. I liked the premise of the series so much that I have ordered more in this series. Lucille Pfiffer is blind & has a small dog named Vanilla or Nilla for short. Nilla does her best to protect Lucille. Although Lucille is blind, she has acquired a gift of “insight” that allows her to actually see what’s going on around her. One problem with this “insight” though is that it comes & goes. When it goes, she is totally blind again. She thinks her gift is associated with the appearance of the ghost who formerly owned the house & wants her to pursue the reason for his demise. In this edition, Lucille is put into a very dangerous situation due to a secret she divulged to her best friend, Merlene.
